About Me

Back in 1986 my father gave me tickets to go see the Toronto Molson Indy.

After that weekend I was hooked! I was now a race fan and Sundays were never to be the same.

If I was unable to attend a Champ Car/Indy Car or Formula One race, I would plan my Sundays around race broadcasts with my eyes glued to the action on the TV, taking in every detail of the event.

In 1996 I purchased a Canon film camera and a ‘Super Photo Pass’ for the Toronto Champ Car race. I was thrilled with the images I captured.

Over the next few years, other business interests prevailed over my budding passion for race photography.

In 2001 my friend Dan who has a TV show on Speed Channel asked me to help capture some racing images for use in his shows. So I acquired credential access for the Toronto race.

While capturing images at Turn 10 at the beginning of the Champ Car race. I had the opportunity to have a conversation with a professional photographer who had been shooting Formula One and Champ Car/Indy Car for a number of years. She explained to me the pros and cons of being a motor sports photographer.

Since that fateful conversation I have spent many thousands of dollars purchasing the best equipment for the job! I have worked endless hours practicing and honing my photography skills.

In 2006 I had the opportunity to shoot three Champ Car events (Montreal, Toronto, Road America) and one Formula One event (United States Grand Prix) as well as several local karting events.

In 2007 I shot Champ Car events at Las Vegas, Long Beach, Road America, Mont Tremblant and Toronto. I also shot the Formula One event Indianapolis.

I have provided images to several magazine publications; Internet motor sports websites, a national Canadian newspaper and two television shows for graphics.

I believe in knowing your product. That product for me is understanding open wheel racing. From Karting to Indycar and beyond...

See you at the races….

Spencer Easton.
